Please take time to read this safety information before using any of the candles.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when leaving a room or before going to sleep. Be sure that the wick ember is no longer glowing.
  • DO NOT allow wick trimmings or other foreign materials to remain on or in the candle
  • Always burn candles in a proper holder. Candles need to be held firmly upright by the holder so they do not fall over. The holder should be heat resistant, sturdy and large enough to contain drips or melted wax.
  • Take care with votive candles. These kind of candles turn to liquid to release their fragrance, so put them in a glass or metal holder.
  • Never burn candles near FLAMMABLE ITEMS. Position them away from curtains, fabrics, drapes, furniture, bedding, carpets, books, paper, flammable decorations etc.
  • Keep burning candles out of reach of children and pets. Never leave children or pets in a room with a candle still lit, or recently extinguished.
  • Remove all packing and read the manufacturer’s instructions before lighting the candle. Do not burn a candle longer than the manufactures recommendation burn time.
  • Do not touch, move a burning candle or when the wax is still liquid. Extinguish candles before moving them. Do not let anything fall into the hot wax like match sticks.
  • Place the candle holder on a flat and heat resistance surface. Be especially careful with night lights and tea lights which get hot enough to melt plastic.
  • Trim wick to about 1cm (1/4 inch) each time before burning. Long and crooked wicks can cause uneven burning and dripping.
  • Always snuff or spoon out the candle.  Never blow them out and never use water or any liquid to extinguish a candle.
  • Unless stated NEVER burn decorative candles.
  • Keep the wax pool clear of wax trimming, matches and other debris to avoid flaring
  • Keep burning candles away from draughts. Avoid burning your candles in a draught to minimize smoke, prevent rapid, uneven burning and avoid flame flare-ups and sooting. Drafts can also blow nearby lightweight items into the flame where they could catch fire.
  • Always burn candles in a well ventilated room. Don’t burn too many candles in a small room or in a ‘tight’ home where air exchange is limited
  • Always leave at least 10cm (4 Inches) between each burning candles. This helps to ensure that they do not melt one another, or create their own drafts to cause improper burning.
  • Never put candles under shelves. It is easy to forget that there is a lot of heat above a burning candle. If you put it under a shelf or other surface then it can burn the surface. Make sure there is at least three feet (one metre) between a candle and any surface above it.
  • Double check the candles are out. Candles that have been put out can go on smoldering and start a fire. Make sure they are completely out.
  • Never use outdoor candles indoors.
  • Store candles in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • Never use candle as night light.
